We have been looking for patterns around our classroom.  

Here are some of the patterns we found...

Yesterday we were 'tuning in' to our new Maths strand- Algebraic Patterns

Here we are having a go at making our own repeating patterns. All Miss Macklow said was, "I wonder what you can do with these materials, using your mathematical thinking."

Principal's Awards

Congratulations to Emma and Coll for receiving the Principal's awards this week and last week. You have both been very focused on your learning and showing a lot of Aroha, Resilience, Excellence and Respect.

Coll- you are a focused learner and a kind member of Room 20. You show Aroha, Resilience, Respect and Excellence. 

Emma- you have a real 'can do' attitude and follow our HNPS values. Tino Pai!

Te Reo- A Haka Ma (the Maori alphabet)

Today we started to learn the Maori Alphabet/ A Haka Ma.
We had lots of fun learning the sounds and decided that we would like to have the video up on the Blog so that we could practise at home.

Congratulations to everyone who has received a certificate so far this term. There are so many deserving students in Room 20 who demonstrate positive behavior and great learning and who follow our school values of aroha, resilience, respect and excellence.

Room 4 buddies

Today our buddies from Room 4 came to visit. 

We had a wonderful time getting to know each other. We had lots of chats, shared some stories and explored each others classrooms.

We can't wait for next time and we absolutely loved learning, sharing and exploring with our big buddies.
